Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy today stated that he would soon meet the State Governor to seek the dismissal of the ministers allegedly responsible for the EAMCET-2 scandal.
Reddy asked the Chief Minister to maintain transparency in the case, as this was most likely an inside job.
He claimed that the EAMCET scandal and the unlawful appointment of Vice-Chancellors were two of the most prominent examples of the degrading performance of the Telangana government.
He also slammed the government for obstructing the Telangana Advocates JAC from visiting Mallanna Sagar where protests had been happening recently. The government had even ordered the police to surround the villages to keep the advocates from visiting the villagers. He alleged that the government was making a mockery of democracy through such actions. He also said that he didn't understand the necessity for a reservoir when water could be pumped through simpler means.
Reddy also said that the government did not bother to make the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of the irrigation projects public despite repeated requests and demands from the Opposition. The government and its ministers were also threatening the resilient farmers who refused to give up their lands. Calling such actions authoritarianism, he requested the government to maintain democratic values.
Medak DCC president Sunitha Laxma Reddy alleged that the farmers hadn't consented to give their lands to the government for the reservoir project under GO Ms No 123. She accused Telangana irrigation minister Harish Rao of threatening the villagers with imprisonment if they failed to hand over their lands.
