Chief Secretary S V Prasad on Sunday stated that the development and welfare of the state would be possible only if the law and order situation was under control.
Inaugurating the police duty meet at Amberpet police station in Hyderabad, the Chief Secretary lauded the services of police, and said that they play a vital role in the maintenance of law and order.
Pointing out that the government had been making efforts to provide better amenities to police and their family members, Prasad called upon police to hone their skills to tackle anti-social elements.
He also asked the police to act tough against those who took law into their hands, and caused law and order problems.
Participating in the program, Director General Of Police K Aravinda Rao called upon police community to enhance their language skills and communicate better with people.
Rao asked them to show better performance in the national-level police meet to be held in New Delhi.
