Temporary Licenses For Private Buses
A nominal fee of Rs. 100 will be charged for temporary permits to operators, to transport people who otherwise travel by RTC buses.

With the employees of the State Road Transport Corporation joining the ongoing Telangana general strike, the state government, on Monday, gave the go-ahead to a plan to provide alternate transportation to general commuters.
The government is trying to bring in a huge fleet of private vehicles on state roads, especially in Hyderabad.
In the revised situation, all cars, buses from all educational institutions, and mini-buses will be permitted to operate and carry passengers.
A nominal fee of Rs. 100 will be charged for temporary permits to operators, to transport people who otherwise travel by RTC buses.
The Motor Vehicle Taxation Act of 1963 has been relaxed, giving exemption to these operators.
A GO, 913, has been issued by Transport Department principal secretary Laxmi Parthasarathy, for the issue of these permits.
Private operators will be able to run their vehicles now, to substitute an RTC fleet of 3,300 buses, to transport nearly 33 lakh passengers daily.
Iin all, about 20,000 taxis, 20,000 mini-buses and 3,000 buses belonging to various educational institutions, and 1,000 ambulances will be pressed into service as an alternative transport to meet the demand. (INN)
