10K Govt. Schools To Get Drinking Water, Toilets: S Sailajan
Minister S Sailajanath informed that Rs. 42.52 crores has been sanctioned to construct toilets in 6,075 govt. schools, and Rs. 78.54 crores to provide drinking water in 10,104 schools.
Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath informed the State Legislative Assembly that as many as 6,075 government schools need proper toilet facility.
While replying to a question raised by MLA M Venkateshwara Rao and others, Sailajanath said that, to provide said facility to 6,075 schools, the government sanctioned an amount of Rs. 42.52 crores to construct 12,150 toilet units, on 21 January this year.
Further, to provide drinking water facility to 10,104 schools, the government sanctioned an amount of Rs. 78.64 crores under the National Rural Drinking Water Programme on 24 January this year. He assured the House that toilet and drinking water facilities would be provided by the next academic year. (INN)
