The Andhra Pradesh Assembly was adjourned today to Friday following a furore over the alleged leak of the Class X examination question paper.
The Assembly witnessed heated arguments between the ruling party and the opposition members on the issue. While the Opposition YSR Congress Party members demanded cancellation of the examination, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu rejected their demand saying that the issue should be dealt with cautiously since it was about the future of lakhs of students.
Leader Of Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy also demanded the removal of minister P Narayana from the cabinet. Demanding a CBI inquiry into the paper leak, Jagan accused the government of shielding its minister despite the involvement of a Narayana School employee in the leak.
He claimed that the paper was leaked from a Narayana School centre in Nellore on Whatsapp at 9:25 am on March 25, five minutes prior to the start of the exam, and that Narayana Schools' staff had prepared answers to the questions and sent them to their students.
Taking a dig at Jagan, the CM said that the former had never written examinations and that he wouldn't be able to recognize the importance of examinations.
In response, Jagan said that he had actually stood first in his Class X, Intermediate and degree examinations, and levelled counter-allegations against Naidu about his education.
