Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath, on Thursday, hinted that the state government might convene a special legislative session to discuss an Act for the SC/ST sub-plan.
Talking to media persons, Sailajanath hailed the state government's move to appoint a cabinet sub-committee to look into the SC/ST sub-plan fund utilization.
He hinted that the government might convene a special Assembly session to find ways and means of making a strong law which would prevent the diversion of SC/ST sub-plan funds to other 's.
"By appointing a cabinet sub-committee, the Congress government has tried to give constitutional status to the utilization of SC/ST sub-plan funds," he said.
Sailajanath reiterated that the state government is committed to the welfare of SCs and STs, and that various schemes for their welfare are being implemented. (INN)
