The Hare Krishna Foundation has entered into an agreement with the Telangana government to extend its 5-rupee meal program to 18 government hospitals in Hyderabad.

A memorandum of understanding was entered into on Tuesday, and the representatives of both sides exchanged the files in this regard, in the presence of Health Minister T Harish Rao.

Speaking on the occasion, Rao thanked the foundation for extending its services of providing quality meals to the government hospitals in the city.

Rao said that the meals would immensely benefit poor patients and their attendants, and that thousands of people would get good quality food at an extremely low price.

The minister added that arrangements were being made to launch the program on the same day in all the 18 government hospitals by involving elected representatives, MLAs and ministers.

Hare Krishna Foundation chairman Satya Goura Chandra, TSMIDC chairman Errolla Srinivas and other senior officials were present.
