Rs 250 Crores For Mid Manair Rehabilitation Works
Telangana will spend Rs 250 crores additionally towards land acquisition and rehabilitation for the residents of villages getting submerged due to the Mid Manair Reservoir.
The State government has decided to spend Rs 250 crores additionally towards land acquisition and immediate rehabilitation measures for the residents of villages getting submerged due to the Mid Manair Dam in the Karimnagar district.
Major Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao today conducted a video conference with MP B Vinod Kumar and officials on the project works.
The ministers asked them to expedite the works and take up immediate rehabilitation and rescue measures.
Since the government was ready to spend adequate funds, the officials should plunge into action, they said.
The ministers asked the officials to focus more aggressively on the Mid Manair Reservoir since it was key for flood flow canal, Pranahita and ARSP.
It was decided that a Rs 2 lakh compensation would be given to the victims facing problems for 18 years as on the last January 1, they said.
The ministers also asked the officials to increase the daily wages to Rs 180 from Rs 100 as part of the Rural Employment Scheme, and supply three-phase power to the villages getting submerged.
They said that the government would acquire 423 acres of land in Siricilla urban lands under GO No 123. They asked the Collector to hold discussions with the land owners for the purpose, and give compensation to the 32 families losing their houses near Gopalraopet under the project.
