Keeping its word to the people displaced by the Palamur Lift Irrigation Project in the backward Mahabubnagar district, the Telangana government today granted monetary assistance to them.
Industries Minister Jupally Krishna Rao today distributed cheques for a cumulative amount of Rs 2.05 crores among the 12 families dislocated by the project, at the Nagarkurnool RDO office.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the State government was committed to helping the project's victims with timely monetary assistance.
"We will complete the pending projects in the district at the earliest. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is keen on expediting the works to complete the projects in the district at the earliest. We will get abundant water resources upon the completion of the irrigation projects to enable the farmers get waters for their crops," he said.
Jupally said that the new industrial policy of the TRS government was fetching huge investments to the State. The State government was giving permissions to new companies and industries in just 12 days to encourage them invest in the State and provide employment to the youth, he elaborated.
