Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today criticised former CM and the BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao for "neglecting the development of the Palamuru region over the past decade".
Reddy accused KCR of failing to implement crucial irrigation projects, leading to prolonged drought conditions in the district.
He said that the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS), initiated by the previous Congress administration, remained incomplete due to KCR's inaction, and claimed that if the project had been executed during KCR's tenure, the current disputes with Andhra Pradesh over water resources could have been avoided.
The Chief Minister said that his government was committed to expediting the completion of PRLIS and other pending projects in the region. He also reaffirmed his government's dedication to the development of the Palamuru, and said that since his assuming office, efforts had commenced on the Maktal, Narayanpet and Kodangal projects.
Reddy also criticised BRS leader Harish Rao for his role as a cabinet minister during the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy government when he had facilitated the diversion of additional water from the Krishna river through the Pothireddypadu project, adversely affecting Telangana's water share. He also accused KCR of remaining indifferent during the construction of the Muchumarri project, which he claimed also compromised the State's water interests.
The CM also referred to allegations of corruption within the BRS leadership. He called on KCR to confront his son K T Rama Rao regarding accusations of misconduct related to Formula E race, and his nephew Harish Rao over alleged misappropriation of funds in the Kaleshwaram project. He also mentioned KCR's daughter Kavitha, alleging her involvement in a liquor scandal that he claimed tarnished Telangana's reputation. He also invited KCR to engage in a public debate on the State's progress in any village across Telangana.
