"The government has spent Rs. 1,055 crores for the completion of the flagship Mission Bhagiratha in Gajwel in the Medak district since its beginning," Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao stated while reviewing the arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit during which he will launch the ambitious drinking water project.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister reiterated that the government was committed to supplying safe drinking water to each household in the State through the project.
Modi would address a public meeting after formally inaugurating Mission Bhagiratha, Rao said. He asked the TRS activists to make all possible efforts to gather as many people as possible to witness the speech.
Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy said that special buses would be arranged for the public to attend the PM's address.
Mission Bhagiratha's Vice-Chairman V Prashanth Reddy, who also inspected the arrangements made at the Komatibanda area, said that about 2 lakh people would gather to listen to the PM's speech. The people of Gajwel were quite fortunate that the Prime Minister himself was coming to launch the drinking project, he said.
