Chief Minister K Rosaiah would inaugurate the 'Health City' programme to be conducted in slums to mark Gandhi Jayanti on October 2nd, stated Health and Family Welfare Minister, Danam Nagender, on Wednesday.
The inauguration of the programme would take place at a slum in Jubilee Hills.
Talking to media persons at the Secretariat, Nagender stated that the 'Health City' programme had been sponsored by the Centre and is aimed at providing health facilities to all people living in slums.
Under the programme, 892 ailments can be identified and measures will be suggested for preventing serious health problems, Nagender stated.
The Health Minister said that a health card would be issued to patients who crossed 30 years of age. The health card would be useful for providing higher health facilities in 78 Arogyasri centres and 7 government hospitals across the state.
The Minister said that the Centre would bear the cost of the entire project.
Nagender revealed that the state government had decided to give appointment orders for 759 staff nurses recruited under the notification issued in 2007.
The Minister said that the officials had been directed to take all measures to prevent viral fevers in the state.
