Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) President K Chiranjeevi on Tuesday expressed confidence that the state would not witness any political crisis.
Talking to media persons before meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the PRP leader said that he was confident that Chief Minister K Rosaiah, with his immense experience, would be able to tackle any crisis in an effective manner.
"The Chief Minister has lot of political experience and will know how to handle the situation in the event of Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy revolting against government”, Chiranjeevi stated.
Chiranjeevi's statement assumes importance in the wake of the controversy over a program aired by Sakshi television channel seen as an attempt to degrade Congress president Sonia Gandhi and the party High Command. Following the broadcast of the controversial program, the state Congress leadership ganged up against Jaganmohan Reddy, and staged protests.
The High Command also sought a report on the issue to possibly decide and initiate action against Jaganmohan Reddy.
Chiranjeevi stated that he had come to New Delhi not to lodge a complaint against the Chief Minister or to discuss any political issue in the state. The PRP president revealed that he had come to discuss the microfinance issue, Polavaram Irrigation Project, and farmers' problems with the Prime Minister.
The PRP chief also rubbished the speculation that PRP leaders were looking for berths in the Rosaiah cabinet, and described them as baseless.
The PRP delegation comprised of senior leaders C Ramachandraiah, Kotagiri Vidyadhara Rao and Veda Vyas.
