Suspended Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) general secretary Ambati Rambabu on Saturday stated that he saw no reason why Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy had to apologise or offer any explanation to Congress president Sonia Gandhi since he had done no wrong.
Talking to media person at his residence, Rambabu stated that the efforts of MLC and Jaganmohan Reddy's uncle YS Vivekananda Reddy to bring about a rapprochement between Sonia Gandhi and the Kadapa MP were the results of some political machinations.
The suspended PCC member suspected that someone might have included YSV into their 'plot' and made him a puppet. He said that YSV was innocent and had fallen into a trap.
Rambabu said that the party High Command erred in ordering Jaganmohan Reddy not to carry on with the Odarpu Yatra, since the consolation tour was his personal decision, and was totally apolitical.
He added that Jaganmohan Reddy was facing allegations from many other Congress leaders even though he had swept aside his desire to become the Chief Minister.
Answering a question, Rambabu said that he had a right to react on any issue related to Jaganmohan Reddy since he had been a true loyalist of the YSR family, even before Rajasekhara Reddy became the Chief Minister.
He added that the fact that the Congress High Command had not yet issued a show-cause notice to the Kadapa MP meant that Jaganmohan Reddy had done nothing wrong.
