"Rosaiah's Rule Making AP Bankrupt"
TDP leaders slammed CM Rosaiah for mismanagement of financial funds.
Hyderabad | 8th October 2010
Condemning the alleged statements of Congress ministers against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu, former minister and senior Telugu Desam Party leader Somireddy Chandramohan, on Thursday, stated that the ministers had no moral right to criticize Naidu as he had put Andhra Pradesh on the world stage.
Talking to media persons at the TDLP Office, Chandramohan said that the TDP leader had come to power in 1999 elections because of his leadership and administrative skills and had lost in elections due to the coterie of Reddy brothers.
Condemning Congress ministers for terming Naidu as 'backstabber', the former minister said the MLAs supported him because of his efficient administrative skills and the good economic policies adopted during TDP reign. He further added that people already knew who the real backstabbers were.
Chandramohan pointed out that when the TDP demitted office, the State had a debt of Rs. 58,000 crore in 2004, with Rs. 9,000 per head, but now the state had a debt of Rs. 1,12,000 crore within 6 years of Congress assuming charge. The debt per head has risen to Rs. 19,000 and these figures indicated the government's financial mismanagement.
Reacting to the corruption in allotment of land to Emaar Properties through APIIC, Chandramohan said that the TDP had already asked the State government to initiate probe into the issue. If the government ordered a probe, the TDP would come out with substantial proof of its charges, he pointed out.
The former minister alleged that the government was not ordering a probe since it would be in trouble if the list of allottees was made known to the people.
TDP leader Talasani Srinivas alleged that Chief Minister K Rosaiah was not bothered about people's problems and making trips to New Delhi to protect his chair.
Srinivas said that the rebel ministers, who had earlier extended support to former chief minister YSR's son Jaganmohan Reddy, were now targeting Naidu in order to protect their berths.
The TDP leader demanded the government conduct local body elections if it had any guts and stated that the TDP would emerge victorious in such an election.
