TDP MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy demanded that the Centre revoke the appointment of retired Justice B N Srikrishna as FSLRC Chairman.
Hyderabad | 3rd April 2011
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Saturday demanded that the Centre immediately revoke the appointment of retired Justice B N Srikrishna as the Chairman of the Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Committee (FSLRC). "I will move Supreme Court against his appointment if the Centre does not act immediately."
Janardhan Reddy's demand came in the form of a letter to the Government of India. Copies of the letter were made available to the media. The TDP MLA said that the appointment of retired Justice B N Srikrishna as the Finance Ministry's FSLRC Chairman was strongly opposed by the people of Telangana, who believe that he is being rewarded undeservingly for submitting the most biased, prejudiced, unprofessional and inappropriate report.
In his letter, Janardhan Reddy said, "Justice B N Srikrishna, who was an agent for those who wish to subvert the Telangana cause, had acted with a completely prejudiced and predetermined mindset throughout the tenure of his committee."
The TDP MLA continued, "Even in the compilation and presentation of the final report, the sheer carelessness, the lack of seriousness, misinformation, confusion and typographic errors, highlight his team's capabilities and integrity. The team stooped to its lowest standards when it submitted the secret 8th chapter, for which the team was not only admonished by the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, but was also ordered to disclose the chapter."
Janardhan Reddy further said that the Central Government's enthusiasm to appoint retired Justice Srikrishna as the Chairman of the FSLRC, at a point in time when there are several allegations against his integrity, is condemnable.
"Justice Srikrishna does not have the capability, expertise and integrity to chair a committee of the stature of the FSLRC," he commented. (INN)
