Hyderabad | 24th May 2011
In a shocking display for rage, a revenue official attacked a farmer with a knife in the village of Ambajipeta in E Godavari.

The farmer, Rammohan Rao, and the revenue official, Satyanarayana, got into a heated argument over the payment of land taxes. While the farmer maintained that he did pay his taxes, the revenue department employee was equally firm that the former did not clear his taxes.

Losing control over his temper, Satyanarayana lunged at Rammohan with a knife, inflicting deep wounds on the latter's hand.

The ryot is receiving treatment for his wounds at a hospital, and currently sports 6 stitches on his hand. The doctors reportedly stated that the farmer was suffering from severe blood loss, and that he would recuperate in 2-3 days.

Whether or not Satyanarayana is in police custody is not yet clear.
