Will Help Rain-Hit Farmers: Raghuveera Reddy
Revenue minister Raghuveera Reddy promises state aid to the farmers who have been adversely affected by the onslaught of the unseasonal rains in the state.
Revenue Minister Dr. N Raghuveera Reddy, on Friday, assured the House that relief assistance neccessary will be provided to the farmers who lost crop and property due to the recent unseasonal rains in the state.
Replying to a question raised by TDP MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao and others during Question Hour, the minister said that around 11.3 hectares of agricultural crops and 40.15 hectares of horticultural land had been damaged, and that amongst livestock, 94 sheep, 8 goats, one buffalo calf and 7,100 broiler chickens had been lost.
That apart, 7 houses were partly damaged in the Kummera village of Chevella Mandal in the Ranga Reddy district. (INN)
