The Telugu Desam Party's official spokesperson A Revanth Reddy, on Tuesday, slammed Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for not disclosing details of the Anti-Corruption Bureau report on the alleged nexus of politicians with the liquor syndicate.
Talking to media persons, at NTR Trust Bhavan, A Revanth Reddy questioned the Chief Minister as to why he was afraid of releasing the ACB report, and why he was dragging his feet on initiating stringent action against the guilty.
The TDP leader also accused N Kiran Kumar Reddy's government of granting liberal permission for the production of 2.678 crore litres of additional IMFL in the state.
"On a single day of December 9 only, the government had issued permits for the production of 1.70 crore litres of additional IMFL," he acussed.
He reiterated his party's demand for the controlling of the flow of liquor in the state, and for a monetary compensation of Rs. 10 lakh to the families of the recent
hooch tragedy.
He said that the Congress party, which had promised to enforce prohibition in a phased manner, had now catapulted the state to the top of the country's liquor consumption list.
The TDP leader said that the arrest of Vijay Sai Reddy has justified their 7-year struggle against YSR for his misuse of his office.
He also challenged the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee to stop TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu's Rythu Padayatra of Warangal.
"If we decide to counter them, then both KCR and Kodandaram cannot step out of their homes," he said. (INN)
