Revanth Reddy Vows Not To Contest If CM Proves 24-Hour Power Supply

Hyderabad | 7th November 2023
TPCC chief Revanth Reddy today said that his party candidate for the Alampur Assembly seat S A Sampath Kumar and he would not file their nominations if it was proved that the ruling BRS government was indeed supplying 24-hour power in the State as it claimed.

"KCR says there is 24-hour power supply. I'm throwing a challenge that Sampath and I will not file our nominations if it is proved that there is 24-hour power supply in the State," he added.

Reddy made this statement during election rallies he addressed in Alampur, Gadwal and Maktal on Tuesday.

He also asked CM K Chandrashekar Rao if he was ready to rub his nose to the ground in the middle of the road if he couldn't prove that he was giving electricity for 24 hours.

Reddy claimed that the free electricity "patent" belonged to the Congress in Telangana. "The Congress is credited with providing free electricity to farmers, removing arrears, dropping cases and providing free electricity to 18 lakh pumpsets," he said.

Reddy also asked how the number of pumpsets in Telangana had increased from 18 lakh to 25 lakh if KCR had actually given water to one crore acres of land.

Also attacking the Dharani portal, Reddy said, "Did the farmers not get financial assistance during YSR's tenure despite the absence of Dharani? When we come to power, we will replace Dharani with a new app and better technology. We will protect the lands of the farmers. We will also provide 24-hour quality free electricity to the farmers. And we will implement the six guarantees."

Reddy also lamented the state of the Jogulamba temple. "KCR had promised to give Rs 100 crore for the development of the Jogulamba temple. The condition of the temple would not have been like this if there was even some attention from the CM," he said.

Claiming that KCR had done nothing for the State, Reddy that the CM was trying to convince the people with lies to be able to win the elections. He said that there was a new enthusiasm among all sections including farmers, women and the unemployed at the coming elections, and that the desire to put the BRS on hold was visible in the eyes of all the people.

He also alleged that KCR, KTR and Harish Rao were conspiring to defeat the Congress. "They are carrying axes on their shoulders to kill the Congress. Their conspiracies should be thwarted, and the Congress should be brought to power," he said.

Reddy also said that the Congress had given 4 tickets to the Mudiraj community, and that it would give an appropriate status to the community in the State when it came to power. He also said that people should leave aside loyalties to their communities and unite to enable the Congress to win 14 Assembly seats in Palamuru, and that only then would the district move ahead in development.
