The BRS has come down heavily on the arrest of MLC K Kavitha in the Delhi liquor policy case.
Party cadres across the State held protest programs against the arrest.
BRS activists staged sit-ins in front of the bus depots. Protests were also held at all mandal headquarters. In Nizamabad town, ZP chairman Vithal Rao participated in the dharna. In Siddipet, BRS activists staged a dharna at the Old Bus Stand chowrasta, demanding that the illegal arrests be stopped immediately and shouted slogans against Modi calling him a fraud.
BRS leaders also held a protest program at the Gangadhara mandal centre in Karimnagar district. Former MLA Sunke Ravishankar and other party workers participated in large numbers. They raised slogans against PM Modi.
In Adilabad, businesses and business communities observed a complete bandh.
Protests were also prominent in the combined Khammam district. BRS activists took out a protest rally in Illandu, and protested blindfolded. The party's leaders also staged a dharna at the Ring Road Centre in Aswaraopeta.
Protests against Kavitha's arrest were held in Hyderabad too. BRS activists burnt the PM's effigy in Meerpet, and shouted slogans like "Modi down down". MLA Maganti Gopinath led a dharna at the Borabanda bus stand.
Effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi were also burnt at various places.
The BRS activists said that they would not be afraid even if a thousand Modis and Revanths came, and that Kavitha was confident that she would come out of the case without any blemish.
