Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today asked the poor people residing along the Musi river not to worry about the Musi riverfront project as his government would protect every single displaced person and take the responsibility of providing alternatives to them.
"The State government always thinks of the well-being of the poorer sections, and it will support those living in the buffer zone and the FTL of the Musi river. Don't get carried away by the provocations and instigating comments by the opposition. The State government is going ahead with a clear policy," Reddy said.
Speaking at the 95th birth anniversary celebrations of Congress leader late G Venkataswamy at Ravindra Bharathi, Reddy said that the State government was ready to spend even Rs 10,000 crore to help the displaced poor along the Musi, and that if required it would construct houses near the Malakpet Race Court and the Amberpet Police Academy in Hyderabad for them.
Alleging that the opposition leaders were raising the displacement issues only to protect their farmhouses from demolition, he asked such leaders not to obstruct the government from doing good for the poor.
"Some people are dreaming of coming to power misusing the social media. All that will happen is that they will go to Cherlapally jail," he added.
The Chief Minister also appealed to the farmers to stop taking to the streets and instead meet the Collectors to solve their problems.
