Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today alleged that certain political forces were creating hurdles to the Musi rejuvenation project in Hyderabad.
Addressing a program organised by the Japan Telugu Federation in Tokyo, the Chief Minister said that Delhi was witnessing unchecked air pollution, even forcing institutions to declare holidays.
"Don't we need to learn a lesson from the uncontrolled air pollution in Delhi, where public life has come to a standstill? Taking serious note of this, we have proposed to restore and rejuvenate the Musi river in Hyderabad," Reddy said.
He said that the Musi rejuvenation, Metro Rail expansion, Regional Ring Road (RRR) and radial roads were considered crucial to Telangana's progress. However, certain political forces were hindering these infrastructure projects, he lamented.
He added that the State government was however determined to bring them to fruition despite all the hurdles.
"The State government's intention is to attract large-scale investments, promote industrial development and create more employment opportunities. We have made significant progress in the IT and pharma sectors in Telangana. In addition, plans are being made to establish a Dry Port in the State," the CM said.
He urged members of the Japan Telugu Federation to contribute to the progress of Telangana, and said that the State could compete on a global level by collective effort. "Feel free to share your ideas with the State government. We welcome your suggestions for the development of Telangana," Reddy said.
