Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will chair a Cabinet meeting on Saturday and take some important decisions.
As 10 years of the formation of Telangana State will be complete on June 2, on which date Hyderabad will cease to be the joint capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Cabinet is likely to discuss the pending issues related to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act and other matters which are not yet resolved between the two Telugu States.
The Chief Minister, who has already directed the officials to take measures to waive off farmers' loans (below Rs 2 lakh) by August 15, is likely to discuss the mobilization of funds for the implementation of the promise.
The progress of paddy procurement will also be reviewed, and the plan for the upcoming Kharif crop will be discussed.
Moreover, the National Dam Safety Authority recently submitted an interim report regarding the repairs of the damaged Medigadda and Annaram barrages. The Cabinet is likely to discuss the recommendations and the course of further action in the meeting.
Also, as the new academic year will start in June, the Chief Minister has decided to take the necessary preparatory measures before the opening of schools and colleges. During the meeting, students' registration, distribution of textbooks, uniforms and other related issues will be discussed.
