Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today expressed dissatisfaction with Congress MLAs over their "ineffective" approach to governance and tendency to publicly air internal party matters.
During a Congress Legislature Party meeting at a hotel in Shamshabad, the CM said that MLAs speaking openly about internal party affairs would not be tolerated.
Raising concerns about the conduct of several MLAs, he cautioned them all to be mindful as all their statements were being closely monitored.
Reddy also criticised the legislators for "failing to counter negative narratives targeting the government and neglecting their constituencies, spending most of their time in Hyderabad". He said that none of them was utilising social media platforms to highlight the Congress government's developmental work and welfare initiatives, and urged them to engage in politics around the clock, not just on weekends.
The CM also said that there should be no clamour for ministerial positions, and that the party leadership would handle the matter.
Reddy then spoke about the State government's social welfare works. He lauded the distribution of fine rice, the Bhu Bharati portal, the Indiramma Housing scheme, the BC caste census, the legislation to ensure 42% reservation for the BCs and the SC Categorisation Act.
He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was being challenged by Telangana's progressive initiatives, and that the categorisation of SCs had become a political obstacle for the BJP.
"Not willing to lose any opportunity to deride the government after the Telangana development model is now being hailed nationwide, the BJP and the BRS have also misrepresented the Kancha Gachibowli lands using AI-generated misinformation, and spread negative propaganda against the Congress government," he added.
