With the Telangana issue coming to a boil, the intensity of politicians trying to outdo each other and projecting themselves as champions of the cause is rising.
In the first salvo of its kind on Sunday, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Revanth Reddy referred to the alleged 'self-promotion' of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao saying that KCR had his personal benefits only in mind, and cared nothing about Telangana statehood.
Talking to media persons, Revanth Reddy compared KCR's volte faces with a chameleon's colours saying that the reptile would feel inferior at its ability to change hues.
Lashing out at the reported remarks by KCR that Sonia Gandhi and the union government alone could give Telangana, Revanth Reddy asked why the TRS leaders had resigned from their posts if it was indeed so. He said that the TRS could have pressurized the Congress President by some other mean rather than imposing repeated expenditure by way of conducting by-elections.
The TDP leader further wondered why the TRS leaders were changing their words ever so often over the Telangana movement. Revanth Reddy also suspected some alliance between Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy and the TRS chief since KCR never raised a finger at the Congress leader despite him keeping mum on the Telangana issue.
Talking about the January 6th conclave in New Delhi to discuss the Srikrishna Report before it was made public, Revanth Reddy demanded that centre invite the Presidents of the 8 parties.
