Congress leader and Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy alleged that a Rs. 1,000-crore land scam had taken place in Kapra in Hyderabad under the watch of the TRS government, with IT Minister K T Rama Rao's relatives and the company My Home grabbing evacuee lands located in Kapra.
Speaking to the media at the Assembly Media Hall on Thursday, Reddy said that the lands were evacuee lands, belonging originally to those who left the nation. One Rahim Bakshi had left for Pakistan during the division of the nation leaving a 21-acre piece of land here.
The Supreme Court had ruled in 2011 that the land came under the purview of the government. He asked the state government why the government didn't take over the lands, and how come the My Home Real Estate Company was doing ventures in the same lands.
He alleged that K T Rama Rao had swept the rules aside and given the land to My Home owner Jupally Rameshwara Rao. My Home was selling the land by preparing layouts, Reddy claimed, and asked KTR how he was not in a position to see all these developments taking place under his own ministry (municipal administration).
He asked KTR to stop the sales in Kapra if he was sincere. The government needed to take over the lands as a custodian, and he was ready to furnish the details of the lands to KTR, he said.
"The Congress will not keep quiet if My Home's Rameshwara Rao tries to grab the government lands. I am ready to go along with KTR to examine the lands in Kapra if the minister really wants to do justice," he said. He also warned that the Congress would approach the courts on evacuee lands very soon.
Also alleging that Governor E S L Narasimhan had remained a mute spectator to all the land scams happening in the state, Reddy said that Narasimhan had become a brand ambassador for KCR's corruption. He also said that the Governor had turned a maternal uncle to Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao.
