Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas said, on Tuesday, that the government is taking all measures to promote the National Language, Hindi, in the State.
Addressing a students' gathering on the occasion of "Rashtra Bhasha Hindi Diwas Rajiv Gandhi Awards' organised by the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee Linguistic Minority Cell, Srinivas threw light on the importance of the languages spoken in the country. He advised students to respect every language of the country and try to learn as many languages as possible.
The PCC president lamented the recent domination of English over Hindi, Telugu and Urdu languages across the country, especially in urban areas, and urged students to promote the national Language by using it as much as possible in their day-to-day activities.
Beside this, Linguistic Minority Cell chairman Ashok Singh said, "Hindi is our National Language and it has to spread into the hearts of the people over different regions."
"There is an underlying unity in the diversity of the country. With Hindi being the linking language among the people of all states, this unity gets strengthened," Singh said.
Later, girl students from various schools were awarded for their performances in different subjects.

Tyger- English may be popular at international pars. But.., it is not the whole story. Take Japan for eg., it uses japanese language in all its technical communication through out its country. People look up at Japan in IT or tech stuff. So., what does it mean., it mean., language is not at all a barrier for creation. Language is just a means and not the end. Why consider Japan only., cases like china, Russia, France, Italy, Germany. These countries totally believe in using local language than English. Still, these nations are in par with U.S. and U.K.
As someone said., it is better to die in one's own land than lost in a foreign land. Personally, I wuld not opt going to U.S. even given a chance., I am serious., when their fucking jobs are slogging in here.., why would i want to go there and bother myself more. They themselves donot have jobs., it is time these foreigners come to holy India to get educated at cheaper prices (Rs) not $
hey..hey.. guys, like it or not English is international language! if u wanna survive in any other countries/any part of the world u should speak English. thats all. otherwise just stay n be happy spend the rest of ur life in india, not even have a chance to visit or study overseas (dont tell me u dont wanna go overseas once in a lifetime! what a bull****) other thing is, learning any other language than ur mother tongue is a very good advantage. isn't great if u can speak more than 2 -3 languages?? isn't great if our kids can speak maybe 4-5 languages?? believe me, its a plus point for their future resume! so what r u guys arguing for? ur ego?? think of ur next generation rather than ur ridiculous ego! thx. have a nice day!
To me., english is the dumbest language we have got so far.. As someone said., what is famous is bound to be filthy.., i think it happened with english ... Telugu and Hindi are beautiful languages we have... There is certain amount of rounded ness to sentences or words ...
this is clear cut racism....we south indians will never tolerate north indian MP's attempts of imposing an alien language upon us...its all start in school now a days....why should our children in south learn hindi during school???....we are not against any laguage....especially hindi....we are only against its imposition as national language....its imposition in school curriculum....and its imposition in all official proceedings....steps should be taken immediatly to make translators of all indian languages available at both houses of parliament....an MP should not be denied his right to listen and speak the proceedings in his mother toung....i think we need a second freedom strugle from hindi imposition....
Hindi is not our national language. Constitution has never said so. Hindi with English are official languages for Indian union. The 8th schedule of constitution lists 22 official languages which are used by Indian states. What is sad is Central govt uses tax payers money to promote only Hindi and does nothing about use of other official languages. This is so against EQUALITY assured by our constitution
It is a pity that D.Srinivas, the PCC president of AP does not know that Hindi is NOT (I repeat NOT) the national language of India. It is merely one of the two Official Languages of India as per Ch.I Part XVII of the Constitution. No useful purpose would be served by learning hindi. So, all indians (except Srinivas and his ilk and those whose mother tongue happens to be hindi) have debunked this primitive (not classical, mind you!) language. Hindi fellows out of their self interest and Home ministry officials out of their ignorance of the Constitutional provisions are still clinging on to this quixotic effort of promoting hindi. I feel that it is time to remove the word "Hindi" from the Constitution itself in the larger interests of unity and federal structure of our great country.
