Kishan Reddy Blasts DMK Over Anti-Hindi Narrative
The Union minister criticised Tamil Nadu's ruling party for spreading an 'anti-Union government' narrative and an election-driven propaganda.

Union Minister Kishan Reddy today strongly criticised the DMK, accusing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin and his party of engaging in a divisive debate for the past two months.
Speaking to media persons at the State BJP office, Reddy alleged that DMK leaders were misleading the public by claiming that the Narendra Modi-led Union government was conspiring against South India.
He condemned the DMK's recent announcement of a meeting with prominent South Indian figures to oppose the Union government, calling it a politically motivated move.
"This is nothing but political malice. The DMK and the Congress have adopted a bankrupt stance on the National Education Policy (NEP) and the delimitation of Lok Sabha constituencies," he said.
Dismissing Stalin's claims that Hindi was being imposed on Tamil Nadu, Reddy said that Modi had never forced Hindi on any State.
He also said that the NEP was originally introduced in 1986 during the Congress-led government, in which the DMK was an ally.
"Back then, there was no opposition to it. The NEP of 2020 did not impose any particular language on students, just as the 1968 education policy had a three-language principle. The three-language formula was first introduced during the British rule, not by Modi. The Narendra Modi government has actually taken steps to promote local languages in non-Hindi-speaking States. In fact, it was further strengthened during the Congress regime, based on recommendations by the Kothari Commission," he claimed.
He said that the non-implementation of welfare schemes promised in the last election campaign by the DMK had led to growing public dissatisfaction in Tamil Nadu, and that the DMK knew that it would face a severe defeat in the upcoming elections in the State, which was causing it to whip up regional sentiments.
"Whenever elections approach, the Congress and the DMK resort to false propaganda. Stalin is deliberately stirring up this issue to manipulate voters. There is widespread public opposition to the DMK's misrule, corruption, high taxes, high electricity tariffs, exploitation, and the dictatorial tendencies of the Stalin family. In a desperate attempt to divert attention, they are resorting to political theatrics. They are trying to provoke the people by falsely portraying PM Modi, the Union government, the Hindi language, and the Lok Sabha delimitation as threats. Meanwhile, many DMK leaders are involved in the liquor scam, looting crores of rupees from the public. This entire propaganda is an attempt to distract people from the DMK's corruption," he said.
Commenting on the DMK's recent decision to change the rupee design logo, which was originally created by D Udaya Kumar, the son of a former DMK MLA, Reddy called it an example of the depraved politics of the Congress and its allies.
"This logo was introduced 15 years ago when Manmohan Singh was Prime Minister. Now the DMK has changed it for no valid reason. Do Rahul Gandhi and the Congress believe that currency designed by the Reserve Bank of India should not be valid in Tamil Nadu? Let Rahul Gandhi clarify his stand on this," he said.
