Former minister Kadiyam Srihari,
who left the TDP recently, challenged the leaders of the Telugu Desam Party to pass a resolution on the issue of a separate Telangana in the coming Mahanadu.
Kadiyam had previously cited differences over the Telangana issue as being the reason why he left the party. Talking to reporters, he said that the TDP was hesitant to take a firm decision regarding Telangana, and that the party was not sincere in its pursuit of the formation of a separate state of Telangana (as TDP is yet to arrive at a resolution regarding the subject).
Kadiyam also demanded the reason behind the conspicuous absence of the Telangana issue from the draft that lists the issues that are to be discussed in the forthcoming Mahanadu, and demanded why the leaders were shying away from talking about it in the Mahanadu.
When Y Ramakrishnudu (a member of the TDP's politburo) was asked the same question, he replied, "The resolution on the political situation in the country and the state would take care of that."
Kadiyam also criticised TDP leaders for calling him a "political prostitute". Asking TDP members like Motkupalli Narasimhulu, Devender Goud and Revuri Prakash Reddy to refrain from using such un-parliamentary words, he said that it was wrong on their part to use such degrading language against a person who had served the party for decades.
