Hours before his arrest by city police, BJP MLA and hate speech accused Raja Singh released a video stating that he was ready to face anything for the protection of his Hindu faith.
Referring to his earlier video released on Sunday which is said to be blasphemous, Singh claimed that he did not make any derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad, and that he only targeted stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui for making derogatory remarks against the Hindu deities Rama and Sita.
He alleged that neither Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao nor his son K T Rama Rao paid any heed to his repeated requests to not allow the show of Faruqui in Hyderabad. He claimed that KTR in fact took it as a matter of ego and provided huge security deploying hundreds of police personnel under the supervision of four IPS officers. KTR had also made sure that he was kept under house arrest.
Singh claimed that KTR's recklessness for Hindu sentiments came from the fact that the minister was an atheist, and had in fact taken his oath not by swearing on God but by solemn affirmation.
Pointing out that he had warned KTR that he would also hold a show if the show of Faruqui was held in the city, Singh said that he kept his promise and uploaded his video targeting the stand-up comedian. He claimed that the residents of the city belonging to the minority community were filing false criminal cases against him by understanding his comments in a wrong manner. He said that he still stood by his comments, and that he was not scared of anybody. He also said he did not have any regrets for his comments.
Speaking further, he asked the State government why it did not file any case against AIMIM floor leader in the State Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi for his insulting remarks against the Rama, Sita and Saraswathi in the past.
