The Mayor and the corporators joined the Congress under the leadership of Ramagundam MLA Raj Tagore.

AICC Telangana in-charge Deepadas Munshi, IT minister Sridhar Babu, Government Advisor Harkara Venugopal and AICC Secretary Rohit Chaudhary congratulated the corporators for taking the decision of joining the Congress, and welcomed them into the party's fold at a programme held at Gandhi Bhavan.
