South India cine idol Rajnikanth is set to travel to Singapore on Friday to avail himself of better health care facilities.
The 61-year-old actor has been
hospitalised due to respiratory and gastro-intestinal problems since the beginning of this month, and since his health is refusing to improve, the star's family has decided to fly him to Singapore.
Rajnikanth's wife and daughter are reportedly accompanying him to Singapore.
While Satyanarayana Rao, Rajni's brother, attributed the actor's deteriorating health condition to alcohol withdrawal, doctors insist that the fact that Rajni was once a chain smoker is what is affecting his health.
Rajnikanth had first been hospitalised in St. Isabel Hospital on April 29th, the first day that the Raana crew hit the sets, after complaining of respiratory problems and stomach ache. He was discharged 10 days later, only to land in Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre on May 13th for allergic bronchitis.
