Chief Minister K Rosaiah, on Tuesday, gave the nod to release Rs. 56 crore for the development of the second phase of the Rajiv Arogyasri Services in East and West Godavari, Chittoor, Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy districts.
Pitani Satyanarayana, the minister for Rajiv Arogyasri, said that the funds were being released from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
The nod for the release of the fund came after a review meeting on the Rajiv Arogyasri with higher officials.
Talking to media persons after the review meeting, Satyanarayana said that a GO has also been passed, bringing the 15,000 destitute living in old age homes under the cover of Arogyasri.
Satyanarayana also revealed that the government has released Rs. 15 crore for upgrading the facilities at government hospitals in the state.
He also revealed that the government has given the nod for a 300 sq yard plot for a new Rajiv Arogyasri Building in Jubilee Hills.
The minister said that the second phase of developing the Arogyasri facilities in East and West Godavari, Chittoor, Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy districts, would begin shortly. Satyanarayana also revealed that the government is mulling over the proposal to bring more diseases under the ambit of the Rajiv Arogyasri scheme.
