The talks between the state government and the Private Hospitals Association ended on a cordial note, and hospitals are set to implement the Arogyasri scheme from tomorrow.
The Chief Minister held talks with representatives of private hospitals that were demanding a 30% hike in charges for treatments made under Aarogyasri, even as there were several complaints of misappropriation and irregularities in the implementation of the scheme.
The association has said that it will take action against any hospital that violates the norms.
The association also assured the government that it has no objection to implementing the Udyogasri scheme - a "cashless" medical system for government employees.
Earlier, there were allegations of hospitals exploiting people in the form of unnecessary tests and surgeries only to make the most of the Arogyasri scheme.
TDP leader Revanth Reddy and others had claimed that hospitals have ganged up and are milking the government with their bills while not providing quality treatment. (INN)
