The Cyberabad cyber crime police investigated 25 cyber crime cases in July 2025 up to the 22nd, leading to the arrest of 45 offenders across multiple States.
Investigations revealed a pan-India network of cyber criminals operating from different parts of the country.
Of the 45 arrests, 17 were linked to trading fraud.
Nine other offenders were arrested for running a cyber crime call centre that extorted money from citizens in both India and the United States - all the accused in this case are from West Bengal. The police seized nine laptops, 27 mobile phones, two passbooks, five debit cards and one credit card.
The cyber crime police station also processed and obtained 153 court refund orders in 40 cases, amounting to Rs 99,14,399 to be returned to the victims.
The police urged citizens to remain vigilant against investment and trading scams promising high returns, and to verify antecedents before transferring money. They advised the public to be sceptical of urgent demands for money or personal information such as Aadhaar numbers, bank details and OTPs. People are encouraged to block and report suspicious numbers - especially those demanding money or personal data - and to exercise caution with links received through messaging apps like WhatsApp or Telegram, or email.
Victims of cyber fraud should immediately report incidents by calling 1930 or visiting www.cybercrime.gov.in.
