Telugu Desam Party leaders say that Andhra Pradesh received a raw deal in the Railway Budget 2013 presented by Union Minister Praveen Kumar Bansal.
TDP floor leader Nama Nageshwar Rao said that the state did not get its due share in the allocation of funds for the ongoing works.
Speaking to reporters, he said, "While the Centre has promised to lay railway lines for an extent of 1,000 km during the previous year, it has reduced the figure to 750 km this time."
Narsaraopet MP M Venugopal Reddy asked as to why there was no survey for the Railways unlike for the general budget.
"It is ridiculous to announce new works, while the works announced during the previous budget have not been taken up," he said.
Chittoor MP N Sivaprasad said that the budget was an "Amethi - Rai Barelli" budget.
"Our request to run a train on the Tirupati-Shirdi line was turned down," he said, and demanded that Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy introduce a supplementary budget. (INN)
