Newly-appointed transport commissioner Sanjay Kumar, on Wednesday, stated that raids on private transport buses would continue till 30 July.
Talking to media persons, after assuming charge at the Secretariat, Sanjay Kumar said that the government has directed the transport department to conduct raids on private travel agencies to ensure their compliance with the Motor Vehicle Rules and to prevent recurrence of accidents.
Stating that a chargesheet has been filed in the court against vehicles which do not comply with safety regulations, Sanjay said that the authority would initiate stern action against the operators of such buses.
Sanjay Kumar said that the procedure for a driving license would be changed and streamlined to prevent road accidents. (INN)
