KTR Slams Government Over Overcrowding Of TGRTC Buses
The BRS working president responded to the incident where the tyres of a bus carrying 170 passengers burst in Jagtial district yesterday due to overloading.
BRS working president K T Rama Rao today responded via X to the incident where the rear tyres of a bus carrying 170 passengers burst in Morapelli mandal of Jagtial district yesterday due to overloading.
The bus was supposed to carry 50 people but had 170 passengers on board, and the passengers in the bus were lucky and survived the accident without any injuries.
KTR asked why the government was playing with the lives of innocent people, and when the number of buses in the State would be be increased.
He also asked what safety norms were being followed so that the number of the passengers in the buses did not exceed the limit.
"And what kind of compensation is being given to the drivers and conductors who are overworked due to huge number of the passengers?" he asked.
For the unversed, 170 passengers boarded the bus going from Jagtial to Nirmal. As soon as the bus reached Morapelli suburb of Jagtial rural mandal, the two rear tyres on the right side of the bus burst due to overloading. A major accident was averted as the driver acted smartly.
The passengers complained that not enough buses were being operated, and demanded that the corporation operate additional buses immediately.
