Rahul Gandhi's 2-Day Visit To Telangana From May 9
In his 20-km long padayatra, Gandhi will meet farmers who suffered losses due to the unseasonal rains, and the families of farmers who committed suicides.
AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi will visit Telangana on a two-day tour from May 9.
According to sources, Rahul Gandhi may hold a padayatra from Narasapur of the Medak district or Nirmal of the Adilabad district. A final decision in this regard is yet to be taken.
TPCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy, who left for New Delhi on Wednesday, will finalise Gandhi's tour schedule.
During his tour, Gandhi will interact with farmers who suffered losses due to the recent unseasonal rains. In his 20-kilometre long padayatra, he will also meet other affected farmers and also the families of farmers who committed suicides.
The Telangana Congress leaders have proposed that Gandhi start the padayatra from Medak, which is the native district of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. A few leaders also wanted him to begin the padayatra from the Gajwel Assembly constituency, represented by the CM. (INN)
