The next budget session is likely to commence any day between February 14th to February 18th.
Giving this information, Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayan Reddy told media persons at the Secretariat on Saturday that it would be a full-time budget, and after collecting feedback from the Rachabanda program, the government would identify requirements and incorporate certain admissions in the budget giving priority to those which would promote the welfare schemes.
The minister informed that the full text of the next budget was under preparation.
Ramnarayan Reddy further revealed that the government had distributed assets worth Rs 10.5 crores to the poor in the past 2 or 3 days. With a target of Rs. 1200 crore, the government would further embark on the Rachabanda to meet the demands of the beneficiaries.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had reviewed the implementation of the Rachabanda program for the last 4 days to take stock of the situation, the minister disclosed. He was obviously forced to go in for introspection in view of the uprising launched by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) activists in the state, particularly wherever Rachabanda was addressed by him and the ministers.
The program met a violent reception from the TRS, apart from the dissatisfied beneficiaries taking the government to task wherever possible.
Ramnarayan Reddy further said that there was no need for the government to prove majority on the Floor of the House as it continued to enjoy majority support. In case such a situation arose as to prove majority, the minister expressed confidence that the state Governor would examine the issue and proceed as per rules.
Legislators defying the party norms would be taken care of by the high command, Ramnarayan Reddy said.
