Introduce Telangana Bill In Parliament: TRS
The TRS demands that the Congress introduce the bill for the formation of a separate Telangana state, in the Parliament, and not just in the State Legislative Assembly.
On Wednesday, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi demanded that the Congress-led UPA government introduce the Telangana Bill in the Parliament.
Talking to reporters in Hyderabad, TRS MLA K Taraka Rama Rao said that the Congress was trying to delay the formation of a separate Telangana state by proposing to table the bill in the State Legislative Assembly.
He said that the issue of the creation of a separate Telangana state warrants the introducing of the Bill in the Lok Sabha.
Addressing a separate meeting later, Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao said that the Congress should move the Telangana Bill in the Parliament without further delay. He also slammed Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal for opposing the formation of Telangana, and said that the Congress MP was afraid of that his political career will be in jeopardy if Telangana is indeed formed.
