Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was forced to postpone the Racha Banda programme, scheduled to be held in Medak, on Wednesday, to facilitate the thanks giving meeting conducted by the Telangana Congress leaders.
The decision to postpone the Racha Banda was taken when Telangana ministers - Sunita Lakshma Reddy and J Geetha Reddy called on the CM at his camp office on Tuesday morning.
They told the CM that the Congress leaders from the region will be unable to participate in the Racha Banda programme in Medak, as they need to attend a public meeting being organised by the Telangana Congress leaders in Nirmal, to thank the Congress High Command for taking a favourable decision on Telangana.
It may be mentioned that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Telangana Political Joint Action Committee had called for Medak Bandh on Wednesday in protest against the CM's programme. (INN)
