Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh presented the Union Home Minister's Trophies for the best police stations in the country at the inaugural ceremony of the Annual Conference of DGPs/IGPs at BSF Academy, Tekanpur, Madhya Pradesh, today.
The trophy for the Panjagutta PS was received by S Ravinder, SHO, Punjagutta, in the presence of M Mahender Reddy, DGP, Telangana.
The Union government has developed a mechanism to rank the police stations in the country, and has identified the 10 best police stations through it. The basic objective of the survey is to improve the quality of policing and make it citizen-friendly, and recognizing the top performing police stations is an integral part of it.
Since the formation of Telangana, the government's vision of enhancing the standards of service delivery by institutionalizing effective and sustainable systems through use of technology, process initiatives and community partnerships in policing has gained several recognitions, and the Panjagutta PS ranking second is the latest.
