Almost two months after taking over the charge as Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana respectively, N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao shook hands for the first time on Saturday.
The occasion was the arrival of the President of India Pranab Mukherjee at the Begumpet airport on Saturday.
They exchanged greetings while shaking hands in the presence of Governor E S L Narasimhan. They also posed for pictures for the media.
Later, they received the President who reached here to attend the convocation of NALSAR University.
This is the first occasion that the Chief Ministers have both been seen on a common platform.
It may be mentioned that KCR did not invite Naidu for his swearing-in ceremony on June 2, and did not participate in Naidu's swearing-in ceremony.
Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu reportedly played a key role in getting Naidu and KCR to break the ice. Earlier on Saturday, he separately visited both the Chief Ministers at their camp offices and requested them to resolve their differences. (INN)
