Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday stated that there was no place for communal forces in Telangana.
Speaking at the Christmas celebrations at the Methodist Church at Abids, the Chief Minister said that his government would take steps to maintain communal harmony and the "Ganga-Jamuna" culture in the State.
He said that communal elements would be discouraged at all levels to ensure that all communities in the State lived in total peace and harmony.
KCR claimed that he had been visiting the Methodist Church for the last 10 years to pray for the formation of Telangana. He said that his prayers were finally answered, and that this was the first Christmas being celebrated in the State of Telangana.
Assuring the Christian community of providing the required assistance for its development, he said that the construction of the Christian Bhavan at a cost of Rs 10 crores was a step in that direction.
Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, ministers Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Talasani Srinivas Yadav, TRS MPs K Keshava Rao and K Kavitha, and other leaders participated in the celebrations.
KCR's grandchildren also participated in the Christmas celebrations. (INN)
