For the upcoming Christmas festival, the Telangana government has sanctioned Rs 1 lakh and 500 gift packets each to major churches.

For the upcoming Christmas festival, the Telangana government has sanctioned Rs 1 lakh and 500 gift packets each to major churches.
Each packet will contain a sari, a jacket piece, pant & shirt cloth pieces, and a salwar kameez.
Two churches identified by every MLA in his constituency and one church identified by each corporator in his division will be given the cash and gift packets, said Mayor Bonthu Rammohan in a meeting held with the GHMC corporators and officials today.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Rammohan along with Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, Advisor to Government A K Khan, Special Chief Secretary Ajay Mishra, MD of Minorities Corporation Khasim and GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar.
The Mayor also announced that as was the practice, the State government would be organizing a feast in Lal Bahadur Stadium.
He also said that the churches identified by the public representatives should give their bank account numbers and the IFSC codes of the branches to enable the officials to deposit the amount without any hurdles.
The gifts will be distributed between December 5 and 10.
