Prajavani Resumes At GHMC

After a gap of three months, the weekly Prajavani program was held again at the GHMC headquarters today.
The program was suspended by the GHMC authorities as the Model Code of Conduct was in force ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, Deputy Mayor Srilatha Sobhan Reddy and Commissioner Amrapali Kata received representations from the public at the event. They heard the problems of the people who came from different parts of the city, and received complaints from them.
Speaking on the occasion, Vijayalakshmi said that the Prajavani program in the GHMC had been temporarily postponed due to the election code, and that it would continue as usual on every Monday hereon.
"A total of 27 requests were received in the Prajavani conducted today, and eight requests were received through the phone-in program, and all of them will be resolved in a week. Action will be taken against the concerned officers if the issues are not resolved in time," she said.
Commissioner Amrapali said that most of the complaints received today related to town planning, engineering and property taxes, and that efforts would be made to resolve them. She directed the officials to resolve the public grievances within the stipulated time frame.
Additional Commissioners K Srivastava, Shiva Kumar Naidu, Nalini Padmavathi, Geetha Radhika, Satyanarayana, Upender Reddy, Yadagiri Rao, CP Rajendra Prasad Naik, Chief Medical Officer Dr Padmaja, Chief Veterinary Officer Abdul Vakil, Chief Entomology Officer Dr Rambabu, Tax Valuation Officer Kulkarni and others were present.
