Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar today conducted a surprise inspection of the Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) in Secunderabad.
During his visit, the minister spoke with some TGSRTC employees working in the canteen and suggested to them that high-quality food be served.
He then inspected the cargo centre on the premises and inquired about the daily volume of passengers, cargo and parcels passing through the station.
Prabhakar also inspected the condition of the toilets. He then engaged with the sanitation staff, emphasizing the importance of maintaining cleanliness around the bus station.
Inspecting the shops in the bus station later, he stressed that they should sell quality food items, and warned that action would be taken if expired products were found.
The minister also cautioned traders against selling goods at inflated prices, and said that action would be taken if any complaints were received.
Inspecting the platforms, Prabhakar recommended that display boards be clearly visible, and urged the officials to take all the necessary measures to ensure that passengers faced no difficulties.
Prabhakar also interacted with some passengers to seek their feedback.
