Minister Appeals To RTC Workers To Withdraw Strike
Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that the corporation was open to talks and would address the workers' concerns in meetings on May 5 and 6.
With the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) workers preparing to initiate a strike on May 7, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar once again urged them to reconsider their planned action.
The minister today visited the Husnabad Bus Station in Siddipet district, where he interacted with passengers.
During his visit, Prabhakar said that the corporation was open to dialogue with the workers and was willing to address their concerns in meetings scheduled for May 5 and 6, as directed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
"The State government is committed to the welfare of RTC employees and ensuring passenger comfort. The corporation was neglected for the past decade, and has only recently begun moving towards profitability. It is the workers' responsibility to safeguard the corporation. The organisation operates with three main objectives: safety, the welfare of workers and passenger convenience. In light of the current financial situation in Telangana, the workers should avoid creating any disruptions at a time that the RTC is just beginning to progress," he said.
